Canada IPhone Backlash
So many Canadians have been telling me they are now not going to get an IPhone even though they’ve been waiting all year to line up.
This is really a shame, since my feeling is that most people won’t use much 3G data once the initial excitement wears off and they enter their typical daily user pattern. In other words, unlimited data probably wouldn’t be a big deal for Rogers and would be more than offset by the thousands of happy fans who would push their friends and neighbors to get one.
Fifty cents a megabyte once you go over your limit. Jeez.
Rogers IPhone Plans
And Canadians end up with one of the most predatory IPhone plans in the world. This site is setup to organize the protest.

Who Will Become CEO of Apple After Jobs?
CNN weighs in on who might take over Apple if Steve Jobs were to leave the post for any reason.
I have no idea, but I certainly hope that Jobs is leading Apple for a few more decades. My credit card is ready to buy all the things he hasn’t even thought of yet!

Nokia open sources Symbian as the phone OS battle warms up.
Could Apple Buy Microsoft?
“How likely is it that Apple buy Microsoft some time in the next 5 years? You’d probably assign a near-zero probability to this outcome. One in a million, or billion. It’d never happen. Now let me tell you a story.”

I Survived A Japanese Game Show
I love, love, love Japanese Game shows - they are so wacky and different. If I ever get to live in Japan I would probably get fired cause I would just watch TV all day long.
But now the secret is out, and there is an AMERICAN reality tv show about the Japanese game show:
Google I/O Videos

Although we are all mostly focused on IPhone, Google had their Google I/O conference just before WWDC and they have posted all the Google I/O videos and slides online (for free).
If you are an iPhone developer you should really check out at least the Android videos, but all the talks are worth while.
Why We Don’t Mind To Pay For the iPhone Again
“My wife was watching the network news and had apparently seen a report about the new phone. She said, “You’re not getting the new iPhone.” I said, “Yes, I am.” She said, “Then we’re getting a divorce.” She was kidding (I think).”
